Many methods for the determination of alcohol are complex and time consuming. Alcoquick uses a patented, spectroscopic measurement in the infrared spectral range which provides an inexpensive, rapid and accurate determination of alcohol content in all types of beverages.
The analyser automatically pumps a 40 ml sample of wine and displays the results in a percentage (% v/v) within 60 seconds. The user interface is based on touch screen and the operation software is easy to use.
Trident Instrumentation brings the complete range of quality laboratory instrumentation, kits, glassware, reagents and standards by acclaimed Dujardin-Salleron for the wine and liquor industry to South Africa.

Automatic steam extractor for volatile acidity with the official method (CEE n°2676/90).
This instrument is designed for the extraction of volatile acids or sorbic acid, by a steam generator. Fast start and reliable results make the VOLA 2000 advisable for laboratories specialized in wine analysis, spirits, fermented beverages, fruit juices and numerous other agriculture and food industry products (tomato sauces, vinegars, etc…).
Automatic distiller-extractor with steam extraction.
The fast implementation and reliable results of the DE Evo makes it advisable for laboratories specialized in wine analysis, spirits, fermented beverages, fruit juices and many other agriculture and food industry products (tomato sauces, vinegars, etc.).
Quick wine alcohol determination by ebulliometry
With an electronically regulated electric heater and continuous refrigeration, this ebulliometer enables to accurately determine the alcohol content of dry wines in about 6 minutes.
SAWLA is introducing the use of Wine Standards in South Africa, so that our wine industry can regain its former position in the international market, using an indisputable scientific approach.
To avoid discrepancies in the results obtained from different laboratories, incontestable wine standards can be used to ensure you produce reliable and accurate results.
Our company is currently supplying wine standards developed in France and used in Europe. Made to Certification ISO 9001: 2000 standards and providing both, a reference to calibrate apparatus and to assess and control methods of measurement.
The calibration reference
- AA supplies a range of ordinate values for the 7 most common parameters to calibrate the response patterns of automatic equipment. (1 box = 20 x 10ml ampoules)
- IR is a calibration range (ascending alcohol, descending sugar) designed to measure the reducing sugars/alcohols pair by infrared reflectance in fermenting wines.
The control reference
- BTA addresses 15 parameters. Used every 10 samples of wine analysed. If a deviation in the value measured is observed over time then corrective action is called for. (1 box = 20 x 10ml ampoules)
- BTB is designed for controlling manual analyses. 15 parameters can be accurately obtained. (1 box = 6 x 250ml bottles)
Total Acidity (TA) and Volatile Acidity (VA) values are based on g dH2SO4/L
BTB values are also derive in meq/L
Titrivin Calibration References
The Calibration References can be used to calibrate equiment.
Our Titrivin products offer two complete ranges of reference wines to calibrate apparatus.
The Titrivin AA (AA1 to AA5) series supplies a range of ordinate values for the 10 most common parameters for dry wines.
The Titrivin SW (SW10, SW20 and SW30) series supplies a range of ordinate values for the same 10 most common parameters for sweet wines.
Titrivin AA Series
5 References – a box of these standards contains 20 x 10 mL ampoules.
Titrivin SW Series
5 References – a box contains 20 x 10 mL ampoules.
Titrivan BTA is a control standard for sixteen parameters. Used with every sample series of wine analysed, it meets the need for continuous control of automatic analysers.
A box of this reference contains 20 X 10 mL ampoules.
Titrivin BTB is specifically designed for checking manual analyses. Fifteen parameters can be accurately obtained.
Periodically, a technician analyses the content of a bottle using his usual methods to obtain the reference values. If he doesn’t, he checks his titration solutions and revises his methods if necessary – until he obtains an acceptable result.
A box of this reference contains 6 X 240 mL bottles.
